Marek Gregor

My beginnings are rooted in the alternative music scene of Martin in the 1990s. Later, music brought me to Bratislava, where I joined the band Lavagance. With them, I recorded three studio albums and played hundreds of shows in Slovakia and abroad. Through Lavagance, I also had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned producer Eddie Stevens and perform on stages alongside global acts such as Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, and Mando Diao.

I later spent time in Prague, where I played with the band Antoines, recording a studio album and performing as a supporting act for the internationally known band Primal Scream.

A significant chapter of my career is my long-term collaboration with the band Žena z lesoparku. We played dozens of concerts together and recorded a live album at Birdland studio. I have also performed live with artists such as Zdenka Predná and Katarína Knechtová, and contributed live drums to DJ sets by Marek Bohunický (Bobsan).

Currently, I perform with the projects Do Spevu and Lara Abou Band. Even after more than three decades, what I love most about playing remains the same - the unique energy created between musicians and the audience.

I believe a good teacher doesn't teach everyone the same way. I look for an approach that works for each individual, based on their experience, goals, and the music they enjoy. Technique is important, but just as important to me is the joy of playing, the motivation to keep going, and that moment when someone realizes they can do something that felt impossible just moments before.

Since 2021, I've been teaching full-time. In 2025, together with Daniel Buzinkay from the band PARA, we founded the drum school WELLDRUM in Bratislava. At WELLDRUM, we combine high-quality drum education with everything music can bring into life — focus, energy, relaxation, and a sense of flow.

But my work with drums goes beyond the classroom. I regularly organize drum camps and workshops for children, giving them a chance to experience playing firsthand. At WELLDRUM, we also create teambuilding programs and workshops for companies, where rhythm becomes a shared language - a unique way to experience collaboration, communication, and collective energy.

As a speaker at conferences and corporate events, I connect over 30 years of experience as a drummer with topics such as mental wellbeing, focus, energy, and how people function in a working environment. I explore what music and rhythm can teach us about how we work, collaborate, and handle everyday pressure.

But I don't want people to just hear about rhythm - I want them to experience it. That's why I actively involve the audience in my sessions, and whenever possible, participants get drumsticks in their hands. Even someone who has never played an instrument can experience the energy of drumming within minutes.

I've presented my talks at events such as TEDx Bratislava, Forbes Business Fest, TA3 Conferences, Equal Pay Day, and Aby deťom dobre bolo.

My talks and performances are designed for conferences, corporate events, leadership gatherings, and wellbeing programs looking for a format that brings energy, interaction, and a lasting experience - one that doesn't end with the final slide, but leaves people with a powerful surge of energy.
